Our Story
Level Up Plumbing, Heating and Gas Inc. (“Level Up” for short) was founded in 2023 by husband-and-wife team Brian Wota and Caitlin Bohm, built on a shared vision of delivering honest, high-quality service to their community in Okotoks, Alberta.
Brian’s journey in the plumbing industry began in 2010 when he started his 4-year apprenticeship working on large-scale commercial and residential construction projects. After attaining his Red-Seal Certification as a Journeyman Plumber and becoming a qualified Level B Gas Fitter, Brian transitioned to the service side of the industry. In service, Brian quickly became known for his eagerness to learn, reliability, and dedication to customers. His expertise led him to a leadership role as a key technician and Service Manager for a large plumbing company in Calgary.
After six years in management, Brian decided to open a business in his home community of Okotoks, Alberta. With a growing young family at home, Brian wanted to spend less time commuting and more time living and working in his community. At the same time, he felt a strong pull to do things differently.
Throughout his career, Brian saw firsthand how the industry was shifting— technicians were often pressured to act as salespeople, pushing costly repairs or upgrades. That approach never sat right with him. Brian believes that trust is earned through honest work and delivering on what you were brought in to do—not through sales quotas. His philosophy is simple: focus on fixing the problem, provide real value, and customers will come back when they need help again.
And so, with Brian’s technical knowledge and passion for the industry, and Caitlin’s administrative experience and business savvy, Level Up was born. Together, they worked tirelessly juggling their day jobs and raising a toddler to turn their dreams into a reality. Today, their business and their family has grown. While Brian is out in the field serving customers, Caitlin works behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly (as smoothly as possible when you’re a mom to two kids aged 5 and under).
